Dear Parents and Carers,
There is only one place to start in this newsletter and that is in Year 6! We are incredibly proud of each of our Year 6 children for completing their SATs this week. Their hard work, focus, and positive attitude throughout this challenging period has been truly inspiring. They approached each test with determination and resilience, and we look forward to finding out how they did when we receive their results in July. I would also like to extend my thanks to all of the adults who have supported across this week, and especially Mrs. Hayhoe, Mr. Rolfe and Miss Wesson who have worked tirelessly to ensure the children have the best possible chance of success. Well done, Year 6 children and adults - you have earned a well-deserved rest and we are all looking forward to the celebratory disco next week!
Elsewhere this week, Miss Colyer led an exciting assembly to launch an upcoming talent show! This is taking place next Friday and is part of our creativity focus this half-term. We very much look forward to seeing the children showcase their various talents in front of an audience - who knows what hidden gems we may discover!
On Monday, we are excited to welcome two of the marketing administrators from our trust's central service team as well as a professional photographer to carry out a website photoshoot across De Hav. We have a range of scenarios planned for them to capture! If you have not given permission for your child's photograph to appear on our school website then rest assured, they will not be part of the photographs. For everyone else, please ensure your child is looking their smartest and in the correct school uniform as they may end up being captured in one or more of the shots.
You will notice the picture selected for our newsletter this week is a sure sign that summer is on its way. You may also conclude that it was taken from a national trust garden but I am proud to say it is actually from one of the courtyards in our school. Over the past few weeks, Mr. Tate and his team of gardeners (both adults and children) have been working hard to transform this area and I think it is fair to say the hard work is paying off. My thanks to Mr. Tate and Gardening Club for helping maintain and improve our outdoor environment and for putting a real smile on my face as I left school yesterday.
Wishing you all a very pleasant weekend as we approach the final week of this short half-term.
Mr. Bostock
